I've read the whole Fushigi Yugi series also, and all of Ceres which you must read it's sooooo good it takes on a bit more mature themes then Fushigi Yugi and it's gonna make you cry because so many people die but it's a really great series. I loooove absolute boyfriend I think it's too cute. :)

Those are my two favourites! But Alice 19th just owns all of hers, I love it so much!

I like her stuff, mostly. I've never read, but have heard of fushi yugi. and was reading Alice 19th, i didn't really like that one too much. reasons:
a. it for some reason reminded me of Cardcaotor Sakura. don't ask why it just...did.
b. i started reading it because i thought it would have to do with Alice in Wonderland. It didn't. Just because her name's alice, and that bunny thing is white doesn't mean it's Alice in Wonderland reminiscent.
c. The fact that she never fights anyone, and the guy she likes always ends up saving her irritates me.
I do like Absolute Boyfriend though! it's SO CUTE!!!!! (and night is REALLY hot).
So i wouldn't call myself a fan of hers, but i like some of her stuff.

I do really enjoy some of her comics, but I think Yuu Watase is seriously overrated. All of her characters look and act the same in every series she does - to an extent, every male lead is just a clone of Tamahome or Hotohori and every girl is Miaka.
I agree that absolute boyfriend is enjoyable, though. I think the overall tone of that comic is a bit more original than some of her other stuff that came after Fushigi Yuugi; she put aside the same generic shojo-drama plot that she's used over and over before and made a stronger comedy setting instead. Her comics had comic relief before, but at heart they were all basically identical romance-dramas. And visa versa, Absolute Boyfriend has spots of drama, but overall it's really an episodic comedy, which is something somewhat new from Watase.

To tell you the truth Alice 19th wasn't really one of my favorites  it was very funny of course but at times it was a bit too simple like you know she's going to end up with the guy. In my opinion Ceres was probably one of her best most complex stories it was funny but then scary :o , and sad all in one and there was twists and turns that were very unexpected. :yum:

Yuu Watase is definitely one of my favorite manga-kas. I haven't read Fushigi Yuugi yet, mostly because it's kinda long, but I have read all of Ayashi no Ceres and a few volumes of Alice 19th. I'm gonna have to foist Imadoki! and Absolute Boyfriend off my sister. *evil grin*
I'm very fond of Watase's style. While her characters do often look similar, they're just *so Pretty!*, and I'd die to be able to imitate her style.

I've been reading Shojo Beat since its inception, but I've never really jumped on the Absolute Boyfriend bandwagon. It's not bad... the whole robot-boyfriend thing's a neat idea, but I just don't know... I like Nana, and Honey and Clover much better; actually, I like Vampire Knight and Crimson Hero better too (even if at first I was skeptical, not being too into sports or vampire-related stuff).
Anywho maybe it's just that Riiko is very wishy-washy, and I find that annoying. A lot of manga seems to suffer from having that real generic, kind of boring high school protagonist.
I am however excited to find out how the series ends haha

I tried to like her stuff,
but in the end, I could never stand them .___.
I adore cute and fluffy manga, I do.
I love Furuba, Cardcaptor Sakura, and whatnot.
But I just hated her protagonists.
They were always so... much the epitome of what I hate.
They would depend entirely on guys, or would be just weak in general.
Sorry if I offended anyone.
I like the manga she made it lets me go away from the real world for a bit .
I like the way every thing is drawn as well :D
And the guys are yummi :yum:
and at least i know theres some people on this site and other sites as well that they have different taste of manga its good to hear that but i admit its and uneasy feeling when i hear this stuff but its nothing to worry about. :nerd:

We picked up Alice 19th vol.1 in Waterstones randomly... I read it this morning and loved it :) I am obsessed with bunnies though. I'd probably buy vol.2 if I saw it, but I'm not too desperate to get it.... collecting so many different manga right now!

I loved FY, one of the first manga I read, back when they used to cost like $15. I got my best friend addicted to that series, and I did it again with Absolute Boyfriend. I loaned her the first manga one day and she called me about an hour after I left her house telling me she was coming over for the next few volumes I had. It's funny how we get addicted to some of the same stories.
I need to finish reading Alice 19th and I never tried Ceres, but it sounds interesting.

I'm a huge Watase fan... For some reason I don't like Ceres very much, but I adored Alice 19th and the original Fushigi Yuugi. Imadoki! is really cute, kind of boring; the same with Absolute Boyfriend. My very favorite of her stuff is Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden. I cosplay as Takiko. ^_^
some of her stuff i really like (Ceres, Alice 19th, etc) and some of her stuff I can't read (Imadoki, Absolute Boyfriend). . .it's weird.
My fav character all time is Kyou from Alice 19th though <3<3<3
