I have nothing to read, so what better way to find out what's good then get people to recommend their favourite books?

So, what's your favourite book? Anything goes; children's books, non-fiction, click lit, anything is great!

I used to have two favorite books... the first was Battle Royale, by Koushun Takami [I think!!!!] which is amazing and gets you really into the characters, but it is actually only really good the first time you read it. But if you haven't, it is excellent! The second is American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Really rich story, characters, mythology, writing, etc. etc. it is just amazing. With every read I pick up something new, and I find out something more. It is so good! Neil Gaiman is a great author, I think anything by him is something to be enjoyed :D

My friends and I dared each other to read Coraline (we're scaredy cats...).
None of us were scared by it, but we LOVED IT. I'd definetly recommend that, if no one has quams reading childrens books ; D

Kino no Tabi by Keiichii Sigsawa is mine. It's really such a beautiful story, and the characters and exploration of morals and humanity are really what make the story interesting.

I love Neil Gaiman, I finished reading Anansi Boys recently.

My favourite work of his is Snow, Glass, Apples (it's only a short story) because twisted fairytales are awesome.

My favourite book at the moment is Zadie Smith's 'On Beauty', it's nothing classic or anything like that but it was really engaging. The characters are so frustrating and you find yourself wanting to yell at them the whole way through but it's great. Her observations about suburban life are pretty accurate.

a classic, Alice's adventures in Wonderland, and Through the looking glass by: Louis Carroll (the annotated version is the best). Or if you've read that read Maximum Ride! It's a good fantasy, and has funny sarcasm! and what my friends is better then sarcasm?
