I've recently been learning to crochet along with my mom and I really enjoy it. :D Now whenever I feel stressed out, I just practice a new stitch and I'm instantly calm. Now that I've learned most of the basic stitches, I'd really like to try some patterns. Does anyone know where I can find good scarf, mitten, etc. patterns?

I just realized it's been a long time since I've last been on... I'll have to log on more often from now on...

Neat-o! I myself can crochet a little but for the time-being I'm only making scarves. But I love it; it's such a cathartic activity. Tried knitting too but crocheting is about ten times easier it seems.
I'd check out a book store's hobby section for some project ideas and instructions.

i am a pretty awesome crocheter if i do say so myself. right now i'm working on an afghan. my favorite crochet book is stitch n bitch crochet: the happy hooker( http://www.amazon.com/Stitch-Bitch-Crochet-Happy-Hooker/dp/0761139850/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/103-7286584-8116629?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1189048336&sr=8-3 ). it doesn't have a ton of patterns, but it has some pretty neat ones. along with the patterns it also has a lot of different stitches, and it teaches you how to read crochet language. it's pretty inspiring, giving suggestions about inventing your own pattern or even stitch.
what i like to do, is make small samples of each stitch i learn(like a 15 by 15 section) so then i can look at them in case i forget, or in case i need help visualizing something. the afghan i'm currently making started off with a pattern i copied from a blanket a friend of mine has, and now it has a life of it's own!
this site seemed to have a lot of different patterns:

Thanks so much to both of you! I'll definitely check out my bookstore and the website. ^-^
