Yeah, my scanner bit the dust a long, long time ago, and I haven't scanned any of my new art since. But until I get a new scanner, I have to photograph my new pieces, so the quality will suck.

First of all is my submission for the Shoujo Beat Beat Girl Contest:

cool what medium did you use?

It's prismacolour pencil on computer paper, layered with prismacolour ink marker and crayola watercolour marker. I sketch first, then colour, then outline LAST with Helix ink pen.

I usually forbid myself from outlining anything. I prefer to blend anime with realism... and I never ink anything, either! I usually always work in coloured pencil.

I only really went out on a limb like this, because I wanted a real comic book-y feel, appropriatley.

mhmm I think you achieved a really neat effect! The colors really pop. Even the posters in the background look really cool. Good luck in the contest!

Very nice job! I think you really succeeded with blending an anime style with a more Western style. Looks great and I won't be surprised if you win!
