I made this dress out of upholstering brocade material, and broke a needle trying to sew it, it was so heavy. Lots of layers, eyelets, laces, and gathering. No zipper. All hems finished. Inspired by Elizabeth Swann, from Pirates of the Carribbean.

Nope, I used my machine. But I did break a needle though, sewing all that gathering at the waist... it's very heavy. Leo keeps complaining that she can't play Dance Dance Revolution in it.

Thank you so much! It was all quite trick,y but the positive feedback is plenty of motivation to sew more. :D

the design of the dress is simple but gorgeous. It really fits the doll. She looks like she would look better in elegant dresses rather then cute. (not saying she wouldn't look cute in cute dresses though! o-o ) . high 5!

Super cute Lavendre! Leo seems to love posing! Maybe she want to be a model. Anyway you really did a great job doing the dress.
