Alright, I'm a seasoned veteran, but I'd like some feedback. My pink is rapidly fading and instead of redoing it, I'd like to just go back to my "Semi" natural haircolor....problem is, how to w/o having to bleach or strip to start over. Hopeless? My hair has been a pretty dark black brown, now with a magenta over top giving me a "Vampire pink" look. My natural color is light brown. Anyone got some suggestions?

If your hair isn't bleached under the pink it should wash out pretty well. if you can find a tea tree oil shampoo that might help, I remember using that once and it took the color right out. (I didn't want it to that time, but it's what I use now) also hot oil treatments can help pull color out with out stipping the hair.

I'm confused..is it pink over your natural haircolor or is it lightened at all?

BTW I have a friend who had platinum hair with a pink tinge, and she used a color remover and had really bad results(a lot of her hair broke off). What she tried later (several haircolors down the road) was putting regular 20 vol bleach on for just a few minutes, to strip the color, and It worked perfectly.

dish soap will get out semi permenant colors sometimes. just make sure you condition a ton after that.

also, loreal makes this stuff called hair color remover. it will remove the color, but it might leave your hair an odd color(it basically removes all the color out of your hair). if you then use a permenant hair dye over it, something that isnt too light, it should cover it fine.

if worse comes to worse, go to a salon and they'll be able to fix it causing little damage to your tresses.

Oooo lots of idea's!

I'm currently with dark permanent hair- but id like to get a pink streak in there- blondifying though is quite difficuklt i seem to remember!

Ah well!

If you have a permanent dye or have belasched in my opinion the best bet is probably to let your roots grow a little and try to match a semi permanent dye to them, or a permanent depending.

for perfect id have to suggest the hairdressers too, but its always a lil confussing

Ok ladies and gents, I decided to do a permanent light brown over my hair which pretty much stripped what was left of the pink and then I did some subtle highlights but only left the bleach on long enough to turn my hair through the bright red pre-orange phase which looks great. Turned out very nice. Thanks for all the advice and I'll for sure remember the tree-tea advice (I love the smell of that stuff)

Oh I know...now the only problem is doing everything w/o bleaching. I'm trying to give me poor tresses a much needed break. So far so good until I decide I want a rainbow again hehe

They need to make a nice and kind bleach! I made a deal with my hair, that I could dye it whatever color I wanted, as long as I promise never to bleach over the same bit twice.

YES! Nice and Kind bleach, I like it. Out of all the world's technology you'd think there'd be something like that. Must be low on the priority list.

I used to dye my hair pink, but i started doing it over already really dyed hair.

Initially i did it myself and i had whiteish roots with ginger tips.

Dyed over that.

Went to hairdressers to have it professionally done.

Hair started getting shorter and thinner all by itself!

After about 2 years of it being short and a bit think i decided to let it grow again, and it seems happier now.....

but i keep dying it

My friend has been recently dying the front of her hair purple. It looks really nice but it was hard for her to do it at first so she bleached her hair. She did bright red too for a little bit but the purple is better.

My lil sis has a craze for dying her hair orange too. ^.^ It looks cute with her freckles.

I had a phillipino friend who did her front parts in aqua but it took her three times before she'd listen to me about bleaching first. Especially with asian hair- but when she did it, I loved it.

that sounds rather amusing, my sister is very much the same- wants to dye her hair but wont listen to me that you have to bleach it

If I go colorful again, i think I'll do extensions. I hate dealing with all the work it takes to keep a color looking nice. The bleach...the color...the fading...aiiigh!!!

If anyone is interested, I used to use Wella creme oil bleach, and I could use it twice (my hair is pretty fine) without too much damage. I was a DIY platinum head off and on for a long time.

Now I use henna and indigo to make my hair as close to black as I can, although I can't say it's much less work than the platinum! I still have to spend several hours a month maintaining the color... :o

I tried blonde a while back only to realize I look utterly rediculous. Whoever said if you were blonde as a child, you'd look good blonde as an adult needs a good smacking,
