OKAY SO WHAT DID EVERYONE THINK!?
Haha I couldn't stop reading once I finally got down to it~~ I didn't like the epilogue very much but I liked the ending [and the entire book] just the same! I thought Kreacher's turn was kind of weird and Regalus' story was so~~ sad. I cried at Snape's chapter [not at any of the deaths though..]. Yeah, all the deaths were so sudden and so sad -_- But she kind of breezed through them without pause so there wasn't really time to mourn. I knew it! I knew one of the Weasley's would bite it. Aww Freddddddddddddddd :(
Ahhhhh yes. I loved how everything just clicked into place, as they always do in the Harry Potter books. I hope JK Rowling comes out with an encyclopedia like it's been rumored since she has all those boxes of notes!

i also couldn't put it down. i got it at 9am and didn't stop reading til i was finished! i think kreacher's change of heart was to be expected i guess. i mean, in general it doesn't take much to please house elves from what i've seen! snape's chapter was really sad. i didn't cry at it(or the deaths either) but it was sad. i think she killed people in a way that was indifferent. and almost every death was written the same. i can understand that it's a kid's book...but come on! i want to feel something for these characters i've grown up with! poor fred. and poor george's ear! i want to write fanfiction >.> agghh. ha ha.
the epilogue was very cliche. like the perfect "everything falls into place" ending. i didn't like that. on the whole though it was a good book. though kinda short XD

I think she went though the deaths like that because they didn't have time to moan. They had to go beat ol' voldy, find the hollows and the horcuoxs, among other things. I think if she would of put more into the deaths then the ppl would get emotion and not do their task.
WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH FRED DIEING?! OK! I really didn't like that and honestly she did great by getting ppl mad/sad about picking that death but why chouldn't she kill anyone else but fred, Ron even! Fred and George were suppose to be together forever, it doesn't work without them. I hated how lupin and tonks died though, it was like a sentence... I know she couldn't make it more emotional but I feel i forget that death in the book which I dislike. Who else died?
LETS MAKE A LIST
-Snape (>.<)
-Tonks
-Lupin
-voldy
-Dumbeledore
-the muggle studies teacher
-Sirius
-The G-somethin wand maker
-Oliviandor wand maker
-Can you guys please help because I can't spell nor can I remember... V.V;;
The story as a whole was great but I think she could of make it a lot longer. I feel in the start she made it go well and added a lot of detail but rushed it at the end. The epilogue was a completely different story though, it was horrible. I wish she would of done more with it, or at the very least make it up to the same par as the rest of the book. I feel she rushed it or it was something I could of wrote, which is quite an insult. The context of the epilogue I did like though, I know everyone wanted action and stuff but Harry deserves a normal mundane life without all the annoying stuff. He needs to be upset about breaking his quill in half not whether or not Voly will go off on a killing spree.
JK is writing an encyclopedia though, and I'm so happy Harry and Ron are aurors!!

Olivander didn't die, I don't think, and I think the reason JK Rowling killed all those characters so it wasn't like "Okays we killed voldy that's great now lets go home and watch TV" and it made the reader say No! This is wrong! I don't want anyone else to die! I want peace! Many people probably didn't like the epilogue, but I did, because most found happiness after all the suffering. I do wish it was more complete, though.
I loved Remus at the end with, "I've got pictures!". Aww, poor teddy... :(
Another one was "NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!" from Mrs.Weasly, that was classic.
Also, you forgot Hedwig. Hedwig died. Also Mad-Eye, Lavander brown, Colin Creevy, the minister of magic, Bellatrix, wormtail, and several other death eaters.

Yeah, I was trying to think of overall in the whole series
I feel bad that Dobby died, he was an awesome Elf. It made me cry when they buried him... I hope Ketcher is ok, I love how he changed.... to bad Sirius never got to see that. Do you think Ginny and Harry live in that house now?

oh man did Lavender Brown die?? I saw that she was mauled or in the process of getting mauled but I wasn't sure if she was rescued in time or not.
Yeah, in a way I do appreciate that she made the deaths so quick and fleeting, because I'm sure death during war is like that.
Oh yeah, what was up with Lupin's shirking of responsibility in the beginning? I mean I felt bad for him after he ranted but honestly when he tried to join the kids I was like "wtf.. is he imperiused!?" And Tonks was only in for like two lines when she was looking for him in the battle... that kinda sucked. Main character dying after one line in the whole book.

"Two bodies fell from the balcony over head as they reached the ground, and a gray blur that harry took for an animal sped four-legged across the hall to sink its teeth into one of the fallen...Fenrir Greyback was thrown backward from the feebly stirring body of Lavander Brown."
Sorry about that, it was late at night and I didn't catch the "feebly stirring" part when I was reading.

elysion: it pretty much says that lupin feels bad for marrying tonks because of his "condition" though honestly that pairing descended like a insane bat out of hell. there was no foreshadowing what-so-ever. i think she handled a lot of the pairings with the exception of ron and hermoine very poorly. i am however biased because i am a steadfast shipper of remus and sirius being a couple. but on the whole both tonks and lupin acted like complete idiots throughout the book. not like themselves at all!
a lot of people died in the books ha ha. it's hard to keep track >.> i forgot about lavender personally! i was focused on poor fred ;.; what happened to george anyway? she never says! the last we hear of him is "george was kneeling beside fred". wtf is that?! what about WWW?! i think harry and ginny living in grimmauld place would be kind of awkward! ha ha. they might have moved to godric's hollow or somewhere near the weasleys...

Rowling recently did a chat on the Bloomsbury webpage or something -- you can find transcripts of it someplaces (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/) , but it answers a lot of questions fans had! For instance, Harry became an auror with Kingsley the head of the department, Ron went on to join George with the joke shop, and Rowling was originally going to kill Arthur Weasley but couldn't bear to, so she ended up killing Lupin and Tonks so that there would be an orphan of this war like Harry was T-T

there's a lot of different stuff goin around. first ron was an auror with harry and they revolutionized the department and now he's helping george with WWW? i feel bad for george. i heard somewhere that JKR said he never got over fred's death ;.; though they were twins... i'm glad mr weasley didn't die. :D he's a funny guy ha ha

Man JK Rowling just had to kill all those people. Except Harry who miracolousely(forgie my misspelling) comes back to life after yet again surviving the killing curse once again "The Boy who lived". Why couldn't she kill Percy :o instead of FRED :( . Stupid Percy turned his back on his family and friends for a job then expected to be forgiven all of a sudden. Then Tonks and Lupin had to die  what did she want to do there recreate Harry's past into Harry's godchild  . Also the epiloge left so many doors open and wasen't clear at all!

poor Dobby. poor Fred, and poor George for that matter! Jo answered fans' questions in a chat-type thing, and you can find it on MuggleNet or TheLeakyCauldron or HPANA.
I loved when Harry actually used the Resurrection Stone to get reassurance. weep-weep cry-cry.

Tonks and Lupin were a prime example of how people started getting married left and right when the first war happened, and then with the second the same thing occurred. There was slight foreshadowing in the books but I also believe she could of done more. Also, wasn't Lupin a bit too old for her? Tonks looks my age (almost 18) in the movie and Lupin looks like he is 40! I'm not too much a stiffer for age but that didn't make much sense...

heya, dont get mad but i only read the last 3 harry potter books this summer(i dont usually read much, i was bored and i borrowed them off my aunt to see finaly what all the fuss was about cause i really wasnt a fan) and now im kicking myself that i hadnt read them all along. that being said i hope you dont mind me talking about it. there is a big age gap between them lupin even says it, thats another reason why he didnt want to get involved with her(i think tonks is meant to be like 20).them coming together was a bit sudden but i guess thats cause its told through harrys eyes and it would be weird if he knew all that personal stuff between them but i do wish jk showed more of lupins feelings towards her(he always seems kinda cold to her) and it broke my heart when they died, and fred and snape especially, that was the saddest story(and i had been holding out hope that he was still working for dumbledore(when he killed him i was still like "...ok im sure there was a explanation for that..."). i didnt mind the epilogue, i know it was cheesy but i thought at least they have a good life now(i do wish it covered more characters though).
