Well, um, hi! I'm Sherylanne and I'm from... New Jersey (forces a smile). Haha, right off the bat let me say I have issues with verbosity. Yes, I suppose that is a warning. For future reference, I apologize sincerely for my ramblings!
Anyway, I'm here, (here being this forum, I suppose) because for a while now I've been looking at the wonderful things at Candy Violet--and of course, Cute Salad too. The reason for this was pretty simple; I entered a contest with the manga anthology Shojo Beat (which I <3 dearly, perhaps less for the manga and more for the cool articles on fashion, Japan, etc.) and for once in my life actually WON something. It was a $20 gift certificate for Vivcore. I was so happy I could've danced (hell, maybe I did dance...) and even the certificate itself was eye-catching. I then promptly ordered a Shirt of Hearts in cream and loved it. It was also around this time I read the book Kamikaze Girls and fell in love with the book, especially the Lolita Momoko. At that time I was unfamiliar with Lolita fashion, but it really appealed to me--the girliness, the fun, and simply the idea of being able to sort of transport oneself to another time. I watched the movie and saw the jumpers and headdresses and Rocking Horse ballerinas and I was dazzled. My style nowadays cannot be described at once (my indecisiveness has me switching styles on a daily basis) but I'm very much influenced by all things Lolita. I'd buy a bundle from BTSSB but I'm jobless and broke, haha. Well, I make due. (Stealing, illegal drug transactions, pretending to be blind and sitting out on the streets...) (kidding, kidding!)
I'm really excited by the discovery of this forum as it strikes me as a really amazing place to talk about much of the things I love. Vivien, I am really inspired by the things you create, and your blog has totally inspired me to take up collecting tea cups. Not to mention your dolls! What wouldn't I give to have my own Jinxi? All in all, I think you're an immensely cool person. I myself have some dreams for the future involving fashion and fun things, so I hope I can follow my own exciting path.
