I am obsessed with Tithe. It's so addicting and can really make the inner child want to come out. Maybe it's just me. But its sequel Valiant is a wonderful love story. I love beauty and the beast type stories. Do any of you like these stories too? :?

Oh, YES. I've always loved fairy stories, though I'm not familiar with Tithe.
I loved The Faery Reel... did you read that?

:( No I have not, but I'm very curious now so I'll go check it out at my library. Do you know of any other fairy books that I should read? :?

Tithe was one of those books where I just couldn't even get up; it was almost a like fluke; so well-plotted out, great characters, and yes, highly addictive. Although, it made me remember a few things from my childhood that were probably best forgotten. I enjoyed Valiant and Ironside as well, which brought all the characters from the two stories together, but they didn't have the charm that Tithe had for me. Another book that is just about as perfectly written is Sunshine by Robin McKinley, which is one of the most interesting vampire novels I have ever read. Robin Mckinley has also written several novels that are retellings of fairy tales, most notably Beauty and the Beast, which she has two different versions of in Rose Daughter and Beauty. For more retellings of fairy tales check out, books by the author Donna Jo Napoli (Beast, Sirena, and Crazy Jack are especially good!) and The Fairy Tale Series created by Terri Windling.
