...I never know what to say in introductions, but I've been here a while and haven't said anything yet, so. ^^; I'm Sabrina and I'm from Wisconsin, and basically Lolita fashion is really awesome. <3 I love anime and manga, too.

I have some stuff from BSSB, but I feel like a huge n00b (I dunno what to do with my hair... ;_; what do you guys do?) so I never wear it that much.

But anyway, this forum looks amazing! ^^ I can't wait to meet everyone here.

Hi there!!!! I have a few friends from Wisonsin and hope to vist some day!!

Introductions are hard it's true though.

For hair I don't always do that much, just having it clean and brushed with a headdress of some sort is enough. Somtimes whilst my hair is damp I put it in two braits down either side, and leave em lose or fasten them up again into loops. That looks kinda cute, but if you sleep on it the next day your hairl will be lovely and wavey!!!! There was a magazine all about Lolita hair and make up if you can still find it, it's called Gothic and Lolita Hair and Make-up Bible and the ISBN Number is 4-8604-8151-8 that might help?

Is your hair curly? Mine is, and what I do is wash it, then while it's still wet, I twist it around and around untill it gets so tight it forms a bun. then I tie a ponytail holder around it. I either leave them in untill the next moning or leave them in all day. Then I take the hair out of the buns and gently put it in two pigtails and spray them with hairspray. The result? Two cute corkscrew curls that will last all day! You can also seperate them into several small curls. I hope I could've been some help, it's kind of hard to explain...

I wonder if that would work with painfully straight hair?

Maybe with lots of hairspray. The twisty buns themselves are cute, too. I wear them a lot with cute salad stuff.

Ahhhh! for painfully straight hair, hairspray normally won't hold it - BUT! Aloe Vera gel will! (And it won't dry out your hair or strip color...)

Just put something close to at least 95% pure aloe vera gel in your hands when your hair is wet and work your hair with the gel. Once your hair is dry, it will stay in pretty curls. :) (until you brush it out.)

Neither does mine! When I was having my hair done all the time for geisha-stuff or for renaissance-stuff, my stylist used aloe vera gel to make it stay all day without any fuzzing or stray hairs. When I would take it out of the geisha styles, I'd have tons and tons of fat curls that would bounce and look cute in a pony tail, and when I would take it out of the renaissance braid, I would have this really neat kinky-perm look. Other than that, my hair can't hold a curl to save it's life.
