I love them both, I love her art style, and the stories are really well done.

I love nana, especially for the artwork. . .I think it has a sort of timeless beauty, even though the characters are dressed in trendy clothes. I enjoy the story plots so much because it's so easy to identify with the character's emotions, and social reactions.

Ai Yazawa is amaaazing. I loved Gokinjo Monogatari best of all though 'cause its theme was a lot more happy-go-lucky than Nana and ParaKiss. And I <3 how its a sort of prequel to ParaKiss... the story of Miwako's big sis.

I love Paradise Kiss, I read it when it first hit the states and it really inspired me to follow my dream of becoming a fashion designer. I don't really like her other works as well, but that's because I mostly like shorter series.

Miwako is one of my all-time favorite characters! I love her clothes so much that I'm in the process of designing/making my own versions. After watching ParaKiss, I really wanted to make something. I probably won't be a proffesional designer, but as a hobby it would be fun. :D
I really like Nana. My friend says that it's too emo and all they do is have sex, but I think the story is good and I feel close to the characters. I also have an undying love for Yasu. o-o
And as an aspiring manga-ka, I admire Ai Yazawa's art. I think it's beautiful and life-like, yet still comic-ish.

Before I was even a seasoned otaku, I could pick out Miwako and Arashi cosplayers at my very first convention, when nobody else knew who or what they were. And I had never seen or read the series, just glimped the illustration on the original Volume One cover.
For art to have that much of an impact... wow.
It must have been an omen, because now, I have an UNDYING DEVOTION to emulating Yazawa-seinsei's greatness... I love everything about her style, her stories; the figures in her tales aren't characters, they're PEOPLE when you watch them. THAT's what gets me.

I like both. I realy like the fact she doesn't sugarcoat things. She gives it to you straight and realisticly. Real people aren't like Tohru Honda or Lucia Namani (Shojo heroines.) but Yazawa-senseiis charctars are realistic and human.
