I just got this book off of Amazon... and I love love love it. It's basically a summary of all sorts of Japanese girl subculture fashions. Unfortunately, the lolita section is pretty much limited to gothloli, but other than that, it's super interesting. The illustrations are adorable, too! I learned so much about sukebans and gonguros and decora! I really recommend it to anyone who loves Japanese street fashion- and I kind of assume that's most of you. ^_^

(And now I'm kind of addicted to Gonguro/manba style. Aah!)

I've been waiting for that book to come out, it looks so interesting! I'll have to order it sometime, or possibly get it via interlibrary loan. . .There's another book that I think is called gothic lolita by Phaidon that specially focuses on the lolita fashion trends which just came out this spring. . .I believe that's available from amazon, as well. :D

A lot of them, actually. Like, some old ones like girl gangs, then kogals and gonguros, decoras, lolitas of course... and some more, too, I just can't think of them all.

I know! I want that so badly, but I'm trying to save up a little right now, so... :(

I finally got it at the asian art museum in san fran on my trip there. It's good! But they only covered goth loli which was kind of sterotypical, like, all you do is make clothes, drink tea, and go to rock concerts...

I did wish they had mentioned more about sweet or classic, yeah. But oh well. At least it's mentioned at all.

I'm really looking forward to read the book.
I think they wanted to give a short overview about the different subcultures.
Now I'm very curious. ^^
