I've been listening to opera and classical music since I was a little girl. There's just something about it that brings out the Lolita in me *blush* Last year in school I would spend entire class periods zoning out, listening to Vivaldi and daydreaming.
I love Vivaldi, Mozart, Dvorack, Chopin and of course Beethoven :D Anyone else here a classical music nut?

I love Classical music, my dad listens to a lot s I used to listen to it with him, we'd go to the opera together and the ballet. I'm trying to go more often these days.
I also used to play the cello and looking to getting back into playing music again at some point.

my favorite is Fernando Sor and other composers like him
I mostly like his music because I can play it :D
his music is classical guitar music....... which I believe is the most peaceful of classical music (it always calms me down and makes me happy)

My family goes to the opera fairly regularly, and I played in a youth symphony for many years, as well as performing with the local opera company, so classical music is a big part of life for me.
I have two lists of favorite classical composers--the ones I like to perform, and the ones I like to listen to.
I love singing Mozart and Scarlatti. Mozart wrote lots of great arias for light soprano, which makes me happy. Too many good composers wrote for heavier singers, which I am not, so I am ecstatic to sing the good stuff. I also like singing Copland, though he didn't write too much for voice. For the flute, I love Debussy and Bach.
To listen to, oh gosh... It's a long list, ha ha:
Stravinsky
Rimski-Korsakov
Tchaikovsky
Shostakovich
Puccini
Strauss
Saint-Saens
Britten
Rutter
Sibelius
My favorite operas are by Mozart and Strauss; Le Nozze di Figaro, Der Rozenkavalier, Die Fleidermaus, De Zauberflote, Don Giovanni, Cosi fan Tutte... And so on. I've performed TONS of Mozart, and I'm also a big Gilbert & Sullivan fan. Hilarious stuff. I could also list favorite songs--Pines of Rome has the most awesome piccolo part ever, though The Firebird comes pretty close. Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Beethoven's 5th Symphony, the Karelia Suite...
Yeah. I'm a classically-trained musician, so go figure...

I tried to post this earlier and it must not've worked...
I'm getting really into Beethoven right now. I've surrounded myself with his music!

I love classical music! I'm currently obsessed with this composer, John Rutter. I don't know why, I just love his music! The mass of the children is his best work, in my opinion. Another of my all time favorites is the opera Carmen. ^^

Awesome! I'm a lyric soprano, and I also play flute and piccolo. I've dabbled in piano (had to, for my major T_T;;), but I can't play much more than random anime/game themes and the like.

Rutter is amazing. I love the Stabat Mater and his Gloria. His choral arrangements are so wonderful! I love performing them.

i don't listen to classic music so much, but i do like it elegance.:)
though i have been listening to emilie autumn's laced/unlaced album.
it's really good. the first half of the cd (laced) is more classical sounding, and the second (unlaced) has a twist of industrial. :)
it's really good, you gals should check it out:)

Oh wow! I wish I could go to an Opera. I love watching them and watching ballets and things. The music just makes my soul soar!! I love classical music but I couldn't decide on a favorite composer. I do have a favorite song. It's "The Devil's Trill". It's just so complicated and amazing. I used to have a CD with it on it but something happened to it and it just vanished. Well, hopefully I get to go to a ballet tonight that my friend Ami is in. They are doing the Wizard of Oz. I'm wondering how it will turn out. ^-^ Anyone have any music they can suggest to me?

WOW! I'm a first soprano and I also play the flute and used to play piano! That's so amazingly cool! Sadly, I never got very good at the piano. I'd love to take it up again.
