I have a psp. I like it because my daughters can watch movies on it and I feel better about them holding rather than the ipod but I was looking into getting a DS. I really only play movies on the psp and the sims game. So I was thinking maybe the DS has more games I would play more often. I love my game cube so I thought I'd love the DS. Does anyone know where I can get one for a deal? I saw a pink one in Shojo Beat, I so wish I could get that one! Any good game suggestions for DS and psp? :?

Where you can get one for a deal? Unfortunately, the DS is still selling like hotcakes, so if you want the pink one, you'll be charged the full price. If you want a deal, you can try searching for one of the older DS models - the 'ds phat' as people like to call it. XD; They're silver and a bit bulkier, and have less levels of brightness adjustment on the screens.

i love my DS! try some actual video game stores in your area for a used one. most places like that buy used and check them over before reselling them at a cheaper price. a friend of mine got his for $88 that way. it works perfectly fine, it just has a big scratch down the outside of it.

my favorite DS game is animal crossing, but i also love princess peach, and kirby!

Ooh, I just typed a long reply, but then the computer screwed up and I have to retype it. :mad:

Anyway, Trauma Center is my favorite DS game. Cooking Mama is really fun, too. And Elite Beat Agents. I like the games where you really utilize the touch screen tech more than the ones that don't.

As for prices and availability (as far as Gamestop goes), I know that new DS Lites are $130 and used are $120. The new ones are becoming more and more readily available; my store actually has ten or twenty in stock right now, in all three colors. The used original ones are $100... I think... somewhere around there. The games themeselves never exceed $40 new, and that's just for the big names like Final Fantasy and stuff. They're generally cheaper than that. And there's Gamestops and EB Games everywhere, so you can just call the one closest and ask if there's any in stock. They'll generally hold something like that for you if they know you're coming in that day or whatever.

I don't have a PSP, but if I were to recommend a game, I'd say Me and my Katamari! I have both of the PS2 Katamari games and they're so fun. I'm considering getting a PSP in large part just for that game! Loco Roco seems fun too.

it's a great console to have nintendo makes more family games than 'blow up everything in a five-mile radius with an ultra massive gun' games that's why I like nintendo but I mean the games are cute and fun like nintendogs and animal crossing and then theres games that make you think more like tetris, big brain academy (I heard this game wasn't very good), and brain age
and you can't forget the pokemon games which I really like

There are a lot of really fun games for it. Personally, I love nintendogs, catz, and hamsterz... but then I also love cooking mama, xiaolin showdown, avatar, electroplankton, and zoo tycoon. The ds actually has a lot of games that appeal to me... and, I'm a total build-a-bear nut, so when amazon will let me pre-order the build-a-bear game for the ds, I will. LOL :)

Plus, there are skins to customize the case and a range of stylus accessories to really personalize it. A friend of mine bought the pink one and then got a "lace" skin to put over it so now hers is pink and white lace - it looks so cool.

thanks everyone for your replies! i'm going to start looking this week for one. reading these responses gets me all excited about it! i must have one now!
my psp has a burberry plaid skin. it kinda looks like the burberry design anyhow. i don't really care for the brand it just looks really cute on the psp. it's great to know the ds has them too!! yay!!!
