View Full Version : New Doll Jinxi!

So I've been thinking, I have a little doll to play dress up with Candy Violet, but not one to play dress up for Cute Salad, and as I'm working on some Cute Salad designs, I really wanted to make mini ones too!! The result was me picking up some leftover clay and other things and starting a whole new doll!

Her name is Jinxi and I see her wearing bright colors, and being pretty fun!

She started out pretty rough, I used an old Coppelia head cast sanded down as a base, and built up the face out of paper clay over a resin primer so the clay wouldn't fall off.

I reworked the nose over the weekend and started on sanding.

I've still got a lot of work to do on her, but I like her playful little smile!

I think I like that face better, I think it's because she's almost more human like. I guess cause it's a little more mature and not as baby doll looking. I always like the dolls with faces that looked to be older, the baby doll thing isn't as cute to me.

^_^ I can not wait to see how she looks, the last one was so pretty this one will be sure to look great.

You know the funny thing is, Coppelia isn't that baby doll looking in real life, but when ever I take a photo, it seems to add 10lb to her cheeks!

I feel bad for the girl, the doll itself looks 10 years older than her photos!

I think this one it going to be much easier to photograph, and i'll find a way to get Coppelia photographing well too!
